Life Update and Mini Announcement

Good Evening,

I am writing this on the eve of my 23rd birthday. Nothing too special, as any birthday after 21 is just a reminder that life is still slowly ticking on. Regardless, I’m happy. My 23rd year of life is beginning and at this point in time, I feel that things are finally starting to look up for me. I feel like no matter what happens, I’m going to be okay. Life is full of ups and downs. It’s hard sometimes and it’s easy sometimes but at the end of the day, it’s just life and everything that happens is all a part of the journey. I’ve got a few big things planned for this year and in the next coming years that I’ll write about here when the time is right, but for now, all is well.

There’s not too much to say about what’s going on in my life at this point. I’m still working, I’m still writing, and I’m doing my best each day to implement healthy habits into my life, as I suppose we all do. I’ve begun reading a new book this past week: The Death of Jane Lawrence by Caitlin Starling. It’s got mixed reviews on Goodreads which gives me pause, but if there’s any type of romance I love best, it’s a Gothic Romance. I have high hopes, as I initially picked it up because I read somewhere that it had similar vibes to Crimson Peak, which has become a bit of an obsession of mine since watching it for the first time a couple months ago. Apart from that in the horror media zone of my life, I have also taken interest in a horror ARG which has taken over my TikTok ‘For You’ page lately- Welcome Home. Welcome Home seems to still be in its early stages but the premise and the concept excites me immensely. So far it seems to me like it is if “the Muppets are being controlled by an eldritch horror.” I am very excited to see how it unfolds.

As for the “mini announcement” advertised in the title, I have created two journals to publish to Amazon. I spent the last month or so working very hard on putting together two journals that are very customizable to the user’s needs. I do not claim to be the most organized person in the world, but I do love a good journal. I’ve been using Notion a lot lately. I am thankful for all the creators out there who have made such wonderful templates that I can customize to my needs in order to be more productive. Some people prefer paper planners and some people prefer digital. For me, I really like both. I feel there is value in having something physical that you can write in- whether it be to write down all your weekly tasks or habits or to reflect on your week. So when creating these journals, I wanted to make something that was customizable to the needs of those who use it, while also providing a template to stay organized.

The first of the two journals is paperback and it is a 12 month yearly planner. It has each month with a grid for planning and a “monthly goals” page for writing out anything that is a goal or something to keep in mind for that month. Then, each month has 4 weekly spreads to go with them. These are very basic, allowing you to write in anything you’d like for each day. There are boxes for Sunday-Saturday and additional lines for notes. This one retails for $9.99, which off of each sale I make about $3.

The second of the two is a hardcover weekly habit tracking journal. There are no months or dates in this planner, only days. It has 52 spreads, one for each week of the year. As with the other one, they have boxes for Sunday-Saturday as well as a cute “mood tracker” and spaces for you to input your own habits and to check them off for each day they are completed. Because this one is a hardcover, it retails for $17.99, which off of each sale I make about $4.

I probably won’t talk about these very much, they were a fun project for me to make that I am super proud of but making journals is not my end goal. I created these two products in hopes that I could make a little extra money in order to further focus on my aspirations of being an author. As life is hard, life is also expensive. I do not expect these works to be any “bestsellers” by any means. It is my only hope that with the sales of these journals that I will be able to work toward the life of my dreams- that of being a published author.
These are not up for sale just yet- I have only submitted them for publishing today and they need to be reviewed before they are purchasable on Amazon. When they are purchasable I will make an update post here as well as posts on my various social media sites. For now, here are the cover photos for each of them.

Paperback Yearly Planning Journal ($9.99)
Hardcover Weekly Habit Journal ($17.99)

Thank you once again for taking the time to read my blog and supporting me along my journey. In the coming weeks I will make a post about my novel, giving some plot information and more detail as to what it is about. I hope to finish my manuscript soon so I can start trying to find an agent but alas, that silly “Life” thing keeps getting in the way.

Thank you,

Kayti
