The Autumn Project
Dark creatures terrorize the small town of Middlebridge, leading a young woman down the path of insanity. Will she emerge the victor?
“The Autumn Project” is what I am calling my Work-In-Progress novel that I am currently writing. This story began as something very different when I started its concept back in 2017. Originally it was meant to be a warm story about a young woman who owned a bookshop in New England and the story was to take place in Autumn. It was originally a cozy tale about this woman’s day to day life. It was meant to a short story. Eventually it evolved to a mystery where the protagonist starts to unravel the mystery of children disappearing and returning injured or changed. Eventually, the story revealed itself to me. This was no longer a cozy mystery, this was a horror. This was a young woman whose life is turned upside down as she is the only person who seems to see the truth of what is happening in her town. This was a woman who is struggling with her sanity as her mental state begins to deteriorate while she uncovers horrors living just outside her realm of understanding. My protagonist was now a multi-faceted character with history and someone who has mental struggles with anxiety and depression but in spite of it all is willing to do whatever it takes to protect the innocent. This story is ever changing as I write it, and this page will update as I have more information.
